Coastal Corridor Transportation
Investment Area (CCTIA)

Note: Most of the documents related to the CCTIA are hosted by the Transportation Strategy Board and Greater Bridgeport Regional Planning Agency.

The South Western Region is part of the Coastal Corridor Transportation Investment Area (CCTIA). The CCTIA is one of five Transportation Investment Areas (TIAs) established by the Connecticut General Assembly in July 2001 to develop 20-year strategic plans for each of the state's major transportation corridors. Each TIA submitted an initial corridor plan to the Transportation Strategy Board (TSB) on or before November 15, 2001. The TSB deliberated the TIA corridor plans and developed its initial strategy, which was presented to the legislature on January 15, 2002. As the legislature acts on the initial strategy, each TIA is preparing a full corridor plan, which will be put before the TSB no later than November 15, 2002. In addition, the TSB will work throughout 2002 to more fully develop its initial strategy for submission to the legislature on or before December 15, 2002.  Afterwards, the CCTIA and TSB will update their plans biennially.
