Safe Routes to School - Roton Middle School
Safe Routes to School is a national movement to promote walking and bicycling to school. This involves a coordinated effort to improve traffic safety in the area around schools and instill a healthy and active lifestyle in young people.
Roton Middle School is partnering with the City of Norwalk, the South Western Regional Planning Agency and Fitzgerald and Halliday to develop a Safe Routes to School master plan. The master plan will include a survey of students' travel habits, as assessment of streets and sidewalks around Roton, and recommendations for physical improvements as well as an education and encouragement program.

Information Session and Workshop:
An information session was held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Roton Middle School. Results from the workshop portion of the meeting should be available in the near future. Please contact SWRPA if you could not attend the information session but would like to learn more about Safe Routes to School.
