Regulated Activities in Aquifer Protection Areas in Connecticut's South Western Region
(Prepared September 13, 2004)
In 2004, Connecticut initiated the Aquifer Protection Program, which requires the State, municipalities and water companies to share the responsibility for protecting public water supply wells against contamination from high risk land-use activities. The purpose of this map is to illustrate the preliminary aquifer protection areas and locations of existing high risk land-use activities as provided by the Department of Environmental Protection.
